Everyone raise your glasses – we have a new winner in town. Nestled high in the pristine Swiss Alps, The Brecon in Adelboden should take a bow. The Brecon is a seamless blend of a hotel and intimate alpine chalet, creating an entirely new and improved style of mountain experience.

The hotel’s design swerves the alpine chalet clichés, leaning more into a Soho-house-style-scandi mash up. The Mountain Room boasts a soaring double-height ceiling and a grand fireplace that crackles well into the night. Elsewhere, rustic wood panelling and deep, enveloping sofas create a mood that is both cocooning whilst chic. This is not the sterile luxury of high-end resorts, but something infinitely warmer, more personal.

Everything is taken care of, allowing guests to revel in the rare pleasure of not thinking about a single bill thanks to the hotel’s all-inclusive concept. Adelboden itself is blissfully empty of British accents.  The Swiss frequent the small resort owing to the world-class skiing in winter and breathtaking hiking trails come summer.
